Name : Edy Wijaya
Course : Foundation in Natural and Built Environments
Intake : April 2013
Hi, I am Edy Wijaya, an international
student here in Malaysia. I am now taking Foundation in Natural and Built
Environments course April intake at Taylors University Lakeside Campus. This is
my TGC Online Portfolio, TGC stands for "Taylors Graduate
Capabilities" and this online portfolio is a modernise way of managing our
files and also as an evidence of our work. A lot of you must be wondering
"why Taylors?" right? Actually it is because my sister studied at
Taylors University a few years ago, and from that day onwards I kept hearing
Taylors University as one of the best choice among students from my previous
high school/secondary school who are going to pursue their study to a higher
level. Even one of my previous teachers suggested me to continue my study at
Taylors University, and I also chose Taylors University because of the good
facilities it provides, the high rate of employability of Taylors fresh
graduates, lower tuition fee compared to some other university and Taylors
University also provide the course I could not find at some other university. I
was also very satisfied when I first arrived at Taylors University, the fact
that Taylors University not only provides the things that I listed above,
surpassed my expectations. Not only facilities, academic advantages or
financial benefits that Taylors University provides, but Taylors University
also provides a beautiful and extraordinary campus that is known as Taylors
University Lakeside Campus, the beautiful architecture of the Lakeside Campus
could even put my mind at ease just by seeing it. Here, take a look at the
Taylors University Lakeside Campus
In the course that I am taking now, I have 6 (six) subjects that I need to take in my first semester in order to fulfil the requirement of fulfilling 24 credit hours to move on to the next semester. The subjects and the credit hours are Creative Thinking Skills (3 credit hours), Elements of Natural and Built Environments (5 credit hours), Introduction to the Construction Industry (5 credit hours), English 1 (5 credit hours), Malaysia Studies (3 credit hours) and Moral Education (3 credit hours). And I have 10 (ten) classes per week, which 7 (seven) of them will take place in one of the 20 Lecture Theatres on the campus that were divided for different purposes and the other 3 (three) will take place in different classrooms, like the Design Studio 2, etc.
I think that is all for a little Introduction about myself, brief introductions about Taylors University Lakeside Campus and the course I am taking. I
will keep updating my blog, so don't miss anything! Thank you.
